An all FJC events kind of weekend

I think Megan must be allergic to the rabbit or something ........ She's got high fever that very night we brought it back :p It was bad enough to warrant a pessary by the doctor. She was having Pharyngitis.

We had promised to bring her to JB for supper with the FJC peeps on Saturday night. We didn't have the heart to dampen her mood and so we brought her along.
On Sunday was heat 2 of the auto-styling competition held in Kallang and we were there to support some of the FJC guys that took part in the competition. Congrats to Frankie for coming in 2nd in Category B!

Meg was having fever on both occassions but she was still as energetic as a rabbit. However I did make her skip school today just to make sure she gets more rest. And now, it's my turn to be down with fever. Arghhh......

At the meeting point in Jurong Brid Park carpark prior to convoying down to JB. Meg doesn't look at all sick, does she? At the checkpoint
The hilariously crazy bunch
The long line of Fits & Jazzes - There were about 20 cars I think (that's Meg in the background btw, telling me she's angry with me for leaving her alone :p)
Enjoying yummy food & great company
A real cool bunch
In Kallang Carpark for the Kallang Sprint - impish Meg again .......
This is Xiaolong's ride - It's the Beatles theme. It came in 1st for Category A.Uber retro, uber cool
You know what I dig the most? The gear shift!
I totally love the VIP look. This is MARC9's ride *salivates*
My current dream car - working real hard to buy a 2nd hand one
Also VIP look - love the rims :))
Meg complained she was tired & wants to go to the car to sleep
She looks so pretty here! The wallpaper on my handphone now.
Don't know what to do with myself while she's trying to sleep so start to ........

Take pics of myself & her!!
After watching me, she also wants to get up & take pictures :p
Pic taken by Meg
Meg luurvs to disturb her DaDa
Random pics from my handphone - Meg photographing her own drawing
Saw Woofie & Seraphina lying right next to each other sleeping. They look sooo sweet together but a pity, Woofie noticed the flash & perked up.

It's a girl!

We have another new addition to the family!!! Meet Seraphina, our newly adopted rabbit :D She's 1 years old and a local breed. She might look kinda small here but in reality, she's very much grown and really long when stretched out.

Meg had been pestering us for a rabbit but we felt that our house is already overcrowded with small animals. We have 1 dog, 1 hamster, 3 tortoises and 2 goldfishes. But don't know why, I suddenly had the impulsion to keep one too. So with 2 against 1, Ken had to relent. I think the maid nearly fainted when she saw us bring Seraphina back. Haha....... Now the house is really lively and the maid calls it a mini zoo :p

Woofie was very excited with the arrival of his new sister. Meg affectionately calls them her 'DiDi' and 'Mei Mei'. Woofie had a great time checking Seraphina out. But Woofie is not the malicious sort, more the goofy kind, so we're not at all worried about him harming the rabbit. Thank goodness, Seraphina is very gung-ho and not at all faltered by the new environment nor an over-friendly dog. She' really extremely gutsy and will come up to us to sniff at us and even at Woofie. Most of the times, she's oblivious to his keen interest in her. Hee~

By-the-way, Meg named her pets after a Barbie animation, 'The Princess and The Pauper'. There were 2 cats, a male named Woofie and a female named Seraphina!

We saw alot of adorable animals in the S.P.C.A. For those who wants to get a new pet, I would beseech you to adopt instead. Seraphina gave us the same joy as a baby rabbit would from a pet shop.

Meg the proud sister
Can you see another black thing in the background?
That's Woofie slowly creeping up to check out the rabbit
Ken gave the order for Woofie to lie down
Woofie can only look on temptingly as Ken had ordered for him to sit & stay
Meg warning Woofie to stay away
We gave him free play now

Seraphina's new home
Woofie has free run of the entire kitchen while Seraphina took up a small corner

Shirlyn Tan - Newfound Jealousy

The link to a music video (embedded below) just arrived for me in my email inbox today. It's SHIRLYN TAN's new released MV to her first single 'Windows' .

Shirlyn was my Secondary 3 and 4 classmate from TKGS. Some of you might have seen her perform in Balaclava, Wala Wala or Timbre. And she has just released her album 'NEWFOUND JEALOUSY'. I am especially proud of her because she was one of my closer friends then. It was a pity we lost touch after that. But yeah, it was a great thing we found each other again and I went on to learn that she's on her way to stardom :))

School back then was fun. And it's even more so in an all girls school. We do all sorts of things together - skip classes, check out the boys from neighbouring schools and bitch of course! Both of us loved to sing and dance. Shirlyn's a terrific dancer as well. Other than the routine performances in school, we were very involved in our school's musical productions too. These were big scale fund-raising productions that needs almost 1 year to prepare for. And the icing on the cake was that we get to perform in Victoria Theatre. Thinking back, it can still rouse the adrenaline rush in me. I so absolutely LOVE the stage! (Gosh I miss all of that so darn much ........)

The production that both of us last worked on was 'Kismet' (meaning: fate). Shirlyn was destined to be in the spotlight since school days. She was already recognized then for her beautiful vocals and talent and was playing the lead character. However being in an all girls school had its cons too. The lead character was a MAN :p (But Shirlyn was still terrific!) Whereas me being not so talented, played one of the girls in the harem (negligible stuff but I love it all the same). Shirlyn used to name me her favourite harem and even gave me the flattest tummy award (since I had to be in belly-baring costumes). Haha ....... Although things would have to be turned around nowadays because her tummy is definitely way flatter than mine now!

Oh and by the way, she holds the record for writing the most pages in my autograph book. If I'm not wrong, she clocked 17 or 18 pages! I still get a good laugh out of reading them.

Biasness aside, I love her album. You know how it usually is with albums, it's only the first few tracks that are good. But not Newfound Jealousy. I tried to pick a favourite track but failed because all of them are terrific! Listen to them on her website and you'll know that I'm not exaggerating. Chart topping stuffs. And even more remarkable, she wrote all of them. Now is she talented or is she talented? I had to resist a little squeal each time I hear her song on radio. I think Ken must be extremely sick of me by now, pointing out her song excitedly to him while driving.

I truly admire her courage for following her heart and pursuing her dreams. Many of us have falter along the way. The journey must have been tough but she stuck to it. And now her dream is coming true :)

Go get them girl!

P.S. And after having said so much, what are you guys waiting for? Go buy her album now ;p

OUCH..... my poor poor butt :(

We just got back from another round of rollerblading in East Coast Park. You know how people improve with more practice, I think I am the exact opposite. -_-"""
I mean I can move and all but just not very stable. In fact, I had even managed to blade all the way from Fort Road to McDonald's on Saturday. However it was a different story on the way back, I kept falling for no rhyme or reason. In the end, I gave up and drove back to wait for Meg and Ken instead.
The guys commented that I was falling the wrong way. I kept landing on my back instead of front. The previous time I did that at the multi-storey carpark, I injured my wrist. Then again on Saturday, I had a nasty fall on my butt. Think that fall kinda injured my lower spine. But today I did it again. This time a soft thud on my butt was enough to send tears springing to my eyes.
So I gave up again and blade slowly on my own around McDonald's while I watched the rest continue on their jouney to Bedok Jetty. Kudos to Meg, both times she managed to finish her trail. Unlike me :(
Sigh ....... I have a major phobia now. Think I will just bring my trainers and jog while the rest blade. I guess that will have to do for now till my butt and wrist recovers :p
