A belated celebration continued - Lavaedge

As promised, you didn't have to wait too long for this post :p

Brought mum & Erykca to one of my current hangout - Lavaedge located in Changi City Point

I looove their unique spicy escargots but I'd recommend that you eat them without the pastries though. It's a tad too thick & thus conceals the taste of the escargots.

Erykca agrees with me that it's one of the best Caesar salad we'd ever had. Granted, you should take my opinion with a pinch of salt but never doubt Erykca. She's got one of the best palate around!

The choice for both mum & Erykca

They serve surprisingly good food for a watering hole!

The Ravioli can do with another minute or so of cooking but the plating is so pleasing that I'm willing to overlook that :)

My favourite time of the day - Dessert time!

I know beer is not synonymous with dessert but I NEVER fail to order them when I'm here for drinks in the evening ♥

Their Vanilla Panna Cotta is a must-have!

I noticed there's a promotion featuring set lunches. So if you're working around Changi Business Park, I'd strongly urge you to go there & give it a try.
However strangely, for a Sunday afternoon, the bistro bar was surprisingly empty. A huge contrast to the bustling atmosphere within the mall. The pricing is definitely not a problem because with all the food & drinks we had ordered, the bill came up to slightly lesser than $150 including taxes for 4 of us.

Definitely no problem with the food, price, ambience & service. So I gathered that this could be due to the location. I think many are not aware of its existence as it's located outside the mall with no directional signages. And for those who do, are probably hesitant to enter, seeing it being empty. Weird human psychology, isn't it? How we always associate good food with crowd or long queues.

Go on. Take your first step & you might find that you like Lavaedge as much as I do. And maybe I might even see you there during happy hours!

Cya soon peeps! xoxo

Klair's skincare review + Giveaway

I'm such a make-up and skincare junkie, that it delights me no end, when the kind people from The Face Apps wanted me to review a skincare range from Korea.

I wanted to dig a little deeper before slapping unknown products onto my face. And here's what I found out: Klair's has 4 big NO-formula.
  1. NO ethanol alcohol
  2. NO paraben
  3. NO artificial colours
  4. NO animal testing
I was finally satisfied after carefully reading the various product reviews and certain that it is hypoallergenic plus environmental friendly.

This is Klair's 'moisture' range to suit the dry skin me

A serum retailing at $39.90 - what a steal!

I have to admit that it got me a little worried reading the words 'rich' on the jar. Thankfully it wasn't too thick nor gooey and most importantly, it didn't leave a sticky residue on my face.

High quality pure Vit.C for all skin types. Ladies, remember to use sunblock if you're using this in the day!

Great Singapore Sales! - email thefaceapps@gmail.com

I <3 freebies :)

GIVEAWAY - ends 27 June 2012

May 12 is Platypus Day on Disney Channel from 9am-4pm!

This month, Disney Channel celebrates TV’s most popular semi-aquatic mammal on the planet! On May 12, make way for Perry the Platypus on Platypus Day with a line up of Phineas and Ferb episodes from 9am till 4pm, and the premiere of a Perry-rific episode “Perry-The Actor-pus/ Remains of a Platypus”

“Perry- The Actor-pus/ Remains of a Platypus”
12noon, with an encore at 3.30pm

In “Perry- The Actor-pus”, the executives of Totally Tools oversee a contest to find the company’s ‘spokesanimal’ and Perry is crowned the winner! However, the victory puts Perry’s secret identity in jeopardy, forcing Major Monogram to appoint Agent S as a temporary replacement. But when Dr. Doofenshmirtz sees his new nemesis is Sergei the Snail, he mistakenly underestimates his new opponent. Meanwhile, Candace has been welcomed into Mandy’s “Stop the Busting” retreat, which aims to teach Candace to control the urge to bust her brothers through positive reinforcement.

In “Remains of the Platypus”, craziness has ensued in Danville and no one has any idea what’s going on. The wackiness unfolds when Phineas and Ferb create Cheese-topia. Doofenshmirtz makes Perry his butler with his Butler-inator and Carl is trapped by Doof’s while in a squirrel costume.

Did you know?
That the average sleep time of a platypus is believed to be as long as 14 hours a day?
That the platypus can be distinguished from other Australian mammals by its lack of visible ears?
That the platypus closes its eyes, nose and ears when it dives underwater? It feeds not by sight or smell but by detecting electrical currents.

Pillow's birthday pawty! (dog-friendly)

We had an early birthday celebration for my other precious daughter in Katong Park Dog Run on Easter Sunday. Meg saved up a long time to pay for this party.  But I'm going to have to say this is probably my first & my last. It's a mad house trying to handle both kids & furkids!

Doggy food galore from The Bakehouse! Pillow does tend to get a tad bit allergic & hence I try my best to feed her fresh food all the time. Now instead of purchasing pre-packed treats from the pet stores, I've been getting fresh ones from The Bakehouse instead.

Birthday cake is a must! (And yes, we even sang birthday song :p)

Mini burgers - no yeast dough were used in the buns. They are tofu so I don't have to be worried about allergy!

Even sushi too! All food are human grade so you can help yourself to them if your dogs can't finish them :)

Cake pups - these were gone in seconds!

Special gift from owner of The Bakehouse - you can just see the amount of love put into preparing these dog food.

Some of Pillow's pressies

Dear Pillow having fun running free in the dog run

The princess is 2! ♥♥♥

Ewww ….. manners, Pillow!

Wahahaha! I think Latte refused to walk ~~ (Don't worry, she's not being dragged around)

Our pawty wouldn't have been a success without our dear guests

Awwww ….. this would have been a nice shot of Brownie :(

Peggy's pics to the rescue! It's really hard to take photos when your hands were always tied around one leash or another :p

Baby BoBo - 8 months old Lab & Husky mix

Sweet Pepper who helped us finish up the food :)

Don't be deceived by this small cute thing …….  Joe Joe can be a real rascal!

Soba, a Silky Terrier with a big attitude!

Darling Latte sure can pose ~~

Restaurant week - The Exchange

Did any of you guys take the opportunity to try out a new restaurant during restaurant week? I'm honestly not left with much choices as it was already the end of the week. Therefore, I randomly picked out a restaurant that I haven't been to before & a menu that actually appealed to me. So none of those 'surprise menu', thank you very much.

At $35++ per pax, it was pretty much value for money. I'm not a food connoisseur, so I can't tell you much except that everything tasted decent enough. However, we did wish that the portions were bigger though. In fact, we popped right over to Lau Pa Sat for stingray & satays right after that! Tsk ….. Tsk ….

Though I might not be a food expert but I'm huge on ambience (shallow!). The Exchange is a high-end casual dining gastrobar. Not too stifling & not too noisy. I'd feel comfortable there in a pair of berms & polo tee (not that I wear them though :p) but I'd stop short at slippers. I like the overall feel of it. I'd definitely go back to try their ala carte menu.
Each of us tried different items on the menu with the exception of dessert. Whoever in the right mind rejects Créme Brûlée!

Nice ambience & mix of crowd - met Kennon & Christa there!

I apologise for the motion blur pics. Kinda hard to be taking multiple shots when your party is glaring at you to hurry up so they can sink their teeth into their food :p I confess. No one likes eating with me very much …….

Enough of food pics. Now ending with something just as delectable. Muahahaha!!!

Wearing  a H&M romper that day

I don't leave the house without my Kikis adorning my hand

Have you checked out Le Culte Kiki yet?

Try not to leave me to my own devices cos I can't resist cam-whoring!

XOXO
