Oxford day 3

Woke up the next morning & saw everything covered in white
Left mum & the kids at home while Uniz & I head down to her tattoo studio
Pain is temporary; Tattoos are forever
Finally getting a touch-up on my tattoo behind my ear
Ta-daa!!! I love love love this one cos it's done in my favourite shade of PINK!
I'm so proud of Uniz for having her own studio & even recruiting apprentices. Maybe someone should consider Oxford Ink? :p
I miss Uniz ........
While we were busy with tattoos & shopping, mum got busy at home whipping up a home-cooked meal for us.
It was Rene's birthday & Uniz specially baked a cake for him while the 2 lil' ones helped out by eating the icing :p
Gorgeous family ♥♥♥

Just spent my entire afternoon trying to find a suitable blogskin for Meg. In the end, I decided to create my own. Meg's rather pleased with it. What about you?

Our home in Oxford (super super out-dated post)

Ok, this is even more dated than the previous post. Likewise, found these pics staring back at me in my draft folder. I didn't realise that I didn't blog about my visit to UK & Czech at all. So let's just reminisce a bit, shall we?

This was last year December when we were flying to Oxford to visit Uniz ♥
Note: plano glasses purely for camouflaging my dark circles :p
Arrived the night before & 1st thing in the morning was to play outdoors in the cold cold yard
Watched a pantomime - Jack & the beanstalk
Dinner was at a Noodle Bar
I love how the restaurants always provide some sort of boredom relief for the kids. I wonder how long will it take for Singapore to catch on.
Night arrives really early cos it's winter
Accompanied Leto to school the next day. It was an extremely long walk! It's amazing how Uniz & Leto does this everyday. We were groaning & moaning halfway through the journey. Pampered Singaporeans!
After dropping Leto off, we went to various supermarkets to stock up on food. Uniz had wanted to walk but we had vehemently refused, so all of us packed into a cab instead :p
Can't believe it but after grocery shopping & fetching Leto, it's nightfall again. This time they brought us to their favourite Chinese restaurant. The standard was surprisingly good. Yummy!!!

Erykca's birthday cum mother's day celebration (super out-dated post)

Found these pics sitting in my draft folder. I must have uploaded them & then forgotten while waiting for the words to come to me. I seemed to have an extremely hard time finding the words to my posts recently.

I think you guys would have noticed that I'd been borrowing someones' else's words of late. It might not be a bad thing for now. Words that I want to say but can't say, a hint of what I might be feeling (or not) & a whole lot less committal. This is a public blog after all & I should really exercise restrain.

Anyway back to this post, since the pics are up, thought I should just blog it. Dated all the way back to May but just bear with it, ok?

BBQ just outside the house. It's been so long since we last held one.
Erykca showing off her pressies from Meg & Dad
Meg's pressie wrapped in tracing paper :p
I've got pressie for mother's day too!
Mine's wrapped in kitchen roll :p
These photos were taken using the D1000. How I missed my beloved camera! :'(
Meg definitely idolizes her 'Ah-Yi'
Awwww .........
Meg specially used her pocket money to buy this heart-shaped liquid timer from her school bookshop for me
Lastly, pics with our darling mum. We love you mum!

Home-made liver treats for dogs

Liver Treats

Found this recipe online.

It's really simple & Pillow loves it!

Try it & your dog may love you for it =)

Things You'll Need:

  • fresh liver
  • salt
  • water
  • paper towels
  • small freezer bags

Instructions

1. Add fresh liver to water which is at a full boil. Allow to cook until liver is no longer pink. Usually about 5 minutes.

  1. 2. Remove liver from the water and promptly rinse with cold water under the sink tap; all the while gently rubbing at the liver to remove any slime or white foamy stuff that may be on the liver.
  2. 3. Pat the liver with paper towels until dry.
  3. 4. Place liver on a cookie sheet and insert into a pre-heated 200 degree oven until it takes on a leathery appearance and feel. The liver should not crumble or break when picked up. This should take approximately 20 minutes.
  4. 5. Once cooled, cut liver up into bite sized pieces.

Forgotten fairytales - Sleeping beauty

her heart lingered upon
the promises that were shattered, forlorn.

it did not matter if the unhealing wounds remained,
in her dream, there was... hope.

Broken

Margaret Mitchell

I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken -- and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived.

None the wiser .

Happy 55th Dad!

Celebrated dad's birthday in Pu Tien @ Tampines Mall on 18/8/10

Can't say that we'd always seen eye to eye on things but the one definite thing we agree on is that both of us absolutely adore Meg

As with all family gathering, we're acutely missing Uniz & her family

Back home to cut the cake

Happy birthday dad!
