Ice skate at Singapore’s first artificial outdoor rink

A first in Singapore, Stamford American International School (SAIS) and the Singapore Ice Hockey Association (SIHA) are jointly installing a temporary, synthetic ice rink on the SAIS campus for the sports community and public to try out.

The 'ice' consists of interlocking squares of white plastic, which has been sprayed with a mixture of silicone and water to allow normal ice skates to slide across the surface.

Interested members of the public are welcome to visit SAIS to experience the best of ice skating without the chill. Due to limited capacity of half-hour slots spread over two weekends, pre-registration is required and is confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis.
