What's the term for mooncake festival huh?

Not feeling particularly upbeat to be blogging about a festivity now but guess will have to make do. How many of you actually make it a point to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival? I always do cos it's a night for reunion.

My state of health plummeted right after this meal :p

Just had to make space in our stomach for mooncakes in spite of a super filling dinner

Very thoughtful packaging that comes with a knife & wet napkins

My favourite - traditional plain lotus stuffing without egg yolk

Invited Daryl to join in the celebration with us

Our lanterns were sponsored by RWS :p

Sparklers too!

Pillow's 1st mid-autumn festival

Meg made Pillow put on her dollies' skirt

Our girly girl

Watcha looking at?

My beloved with her beloved

Life's a bed of roses

Just felt the need to let off some steam here before I suffer a melt-down. Been sick as a dog for the past 1 week now & recovery is taking just too damn long. What's worse is that I'm so doped up half the time - flu medicine, cough mixtures, heavy-duty painkillers. (Just too bad that I'm allergic to almost all painkillers & even panadol.)

Meg's exam dates are edging closer & on top of coaching Meg in her work, I am worrying about my sales figures since it's sales closing tomorrow. Plus it seems that no one else in the house is qualified enough to clean Pillow's pee tray. Responsibilities ...... responsibilities ....... never-ending responsibilities ..........

Totally sux but can't complain much since the responsibilities' all mine alone. Don't get me wrong, I love my life but just not right now.

Selamat datang ke Langkawi Part II

So were you all waiting with abated breath to see part II of my Langkawi photos? Well ........ a girl can dream, right? :p

Since we'd already missed breakfast hours in the resort, we headed out to get prawn noodles for brunch

We wasted no time in getting to the beach

Our 3 man decided to jet-ski while the rest of us sat it out
Meg was theoretically playing with sand but in truth she was playing with Shereen's feet

My arm looked so skinny in this photo! Wahahaha ......
An adorable Thai girl who gamely posed for my camera
Getting ready for our banana boat ride! Meg's terrified of water.

My 1st time & it was fun, fun, fun! We even went for a 2nd ride after that without Meg so that we can get dunked into the sea.
Elise getting ready for para-sailing

And then someone got stuck in the tree! Poor fella, he must have been up there for at least 20mins before they finally got him down.

Joanne's turn
Next up - my little warrior!
Meg was so brave! Can you imagine I chickened out at the last min?! *sheepish* But seeing that man stuck on the tree, I believed I was right in my choice! Knowing myself, I could have easily became the next poor sod.
She sure outdid me!

Coming down!

Amrish is game for everything!
After all the activities, we headed back to our quiet part of the beach. Cheryl & the ladies took Meg off my hands so that I was allowed some peaceful time all to myself.
This is life indeed - reading a book, lying on the beach & listening to the sound of the crashing waves. Thinking of changing my blog title to A Summer Affair. What do you guys think?

Muahahaha ..... my ugly toes!!!

Just before we were due to go back
A big thank you to Ben for finding us this little gem of a resort. Just a word of caution though, do NOT take the honeymoon suite! We took that & other than the bathroom is bigger than other rooms, every other aspect of it sucked. We much preferred the rest of the normal rooms!

Closer to the edge

I dreamt of a knight on his white horse
I dreamt of a fairytale ending

In conversation

Just to give you an idea how does conversation in a normal afternoon with Meg would go.

Me: It's Mid Autumn Festival. How do you think we should celebrate?
Meg: BBQ?
Me: Yah but I think the stupid neighbour upstairs will complain.
Meg *straight-faced*: Let's get a gun.

▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼

Meg *drawing*: Does this look like a 'L'?
Me: No.
Meg *adding more to drawing*: Now?
Me: No.
Meg *adds more*: Now?
Me: No.
Meg: Ok I think you're just not creative or artistic enough to see it.

▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼

Eating in Niwa Sushi.
Me: Their chawanmushi actually tastes quite good.
Meg: I love it when Sakae Sushi delivers.
Me: What? You meant the chawanmushi?
Meg: We're on the topic of chawanmushi, aren't we?

▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼

Starts pouring.
Me: Let's run!
Meg: But mum, you don't know how to run. THIS is running! *sped off*

Meg *sees me blogging*: What are you gossiping about this time?

Me: *ROLLS EYES TTM!!!*

Selamat datang ke Langkawi Part I

We had a short getaway to Langkawi over the long Hari Raya weekends. But I don't think I can elaborate much more cos I'm kinda zombiefied from sorting out the pics for this post. All in all, I had a terrific time with terrific photos to show for it too.

Meg's awfully excited about the trip!
Arrived on Air Asia

Poor Daryl was stuck in the back with all the luggages
Meg having a go with the Nex5
Our 1st stop was lunch at the Oriental Village
Everywhere was closed as it was Hari Raya. The sole remaining eatery that's opened served only curries & burgers.
I think it's a good thing that the iphone was invented cos it gave me a legitimate reason to camwhore while everyone played with their phones

Next is off to the cable car ride
Most awesome view!

Mad ♥ this shot
Amrish & Ben
I spotted a colourful bug which suddenly became everybody's photography obsession

Meg loves taking pics of my side profile

Totally exhausted by the climb & the walk
I nearly died climbing these stairs but now looking at the photos, it was all worth it =)
Hurried to the seaside to catch the sunset

I only have 3 words to describe it's beauty - O.M.G.

The next few photos were all taken by Meg. I think she's got quite a flair for it!
♥♥♥ this pic taken by Elise
So engrossed with taking photos that I didn't even realise Elise took a snapshot of me
I think this is my personal favourite
While I busied with my cam, the rest were busy uncovering the creatures hiding in the seabed during low tide.
Got Joanne & Ray to pose for me
Belinda, Elise & Cheryl savouring the moment
Unforgettable memories
Daryl creating his masterpiece
When I turned back for a parting shot just before we left, the sky had turned into a gorgeous kaleidoscope of colours

Last stop was dinner - check out Meg's empty plate & you'll have an idea of how tasty the food was.
