England/ Czech Trip - Day 3

This is a very short post regarding day 3 of my trip. That's the day we were travelling to Czech Republic, hence most of our time was spent in the coach and on the aeroplane.

Woke up early in the morning & putting on my make-up by the side of the window. I saw a squirrel running past in the field in front of me & I couldn't resist whipping out my camera to take a shot of it. (Look closely at the background pic to see if you can spot the squirrel.) The neighbourhood was so peaceful & quiet. I really like the feeling of waking up seeing the little animals & the surrounding greens. It makes me feel a little bit closer to Mother Nature.
There is a pedestal in Uniz's garden, on which she places fruits & peanuts so that the squirrels can help themselves to them.
Meg & Uncle Terrence patiently waiting for the squirrels to appear. Well they didn't have to wait too long cos they really do come out quite often to get food. Meg was thrilled to bits to be able to feed them.
Camera whoring runs in the family. Hee~
Here's Leto in her bumble bee travelling suit. Uniz always makes her travel in that. Bzzzzzz ..........
Whiling the time away while we wait for the cabs to arrive
Some of us play cards & some of us were lucky to get a massage, courtesy of Aunty Diana. Shiok!
Here's Meg looking like a seasoned traveller

Finally ....... We've arrived in Prague!

England/ Czech Republic trip - Day 2 (Oxford)

Getting ready to leave for our tour of Oxford
Everyone was thrilled to be going out with Leto
Uniz's estate
Ken volunteered to take care of the 2 kids while on the bus
Oxford city centre
Mum's way better at this posing business than I ever am
Both of them looking cool :pPlease don't ask me what's the location we are posing at because I haven't the slightest idea myself!Like good Singaporean citizens, we took pics wherever we go, never mind the history of the site!On our way to lunch at The Turf Tavern - The Turf Tavern is a historic pub located just outside the Oxford city walls. Check this out, it's foundation is dated way back to 14th century! It's been visited by many well-known figures who used to study in Oxford & Cambridge. Godma, Mum, Dad & Aunty LingOur attempts at taking emo pics. Wahaha ......Erycka wanted to attempt this pose but ...........Realised her hands & legs were too short! Hahaha ......... So she had to settle for this pose instead. While we were waiting for our food, the both of us went around & experimented all kinds of poses in different backgrounds. I know ..... camera whores :p Darling Leto at The Turf TavernThey've got really interesting 'posters' (erm ..... don't know how else should I call it). Try & see if you can read the words. The front of 1 of my boots started to gape open! Erycka's ingenious way of salvaging the boots till I managed to buy another pair much later in the day. Did I mention that my pair of trainers suffered the same fate when I toured London the day before? 2 pairs of shoes destroyed in 2 consecutive days! I so couldn't believe my luck.In the background is Bodleian Library - filming location for Harry PotterSo cute!
Meg was helping to push the pram the entire day
Ken loves kids
Mandarin ducks in the background
That was all there is to our tour of Oxford cos the remainder of the day was spent shopping! Told you we are good citizens :p
Ken is always on the lookout for a Honda Jazz & gets extremely excited whenever he sees one. -_-"'
We had BBQ in the garden that night. It was shiok barbecuing in such cold weather!
Cheers everyone!

Home alone

This is one of the extremely rare nights whereby I am actually home alone. No Ken, no Meg and no domestic helper even. Ken's MiMi is here from Kuala Lumpur for the night and Meg seems taken with her. Hence she gamely (not to mention strangely) asked to stay the night at Aunty Mary's place. This is so unlike the extremely shy her!

Caught in the parenting dilemma of wanting her to be independent and yet too worried to let go completely. We came up with a perfect solution and asked our help to stay behind with her instead. This way she will have someone there who's knows her habits inside out and at the same time, not tied to our apron strings. Yeah! :p

And as for Ken, he is now at one of the nightly 'die die must go' FJC kopi (translate = coffee) session. I was sorely tempted to join him since I am free of my motherly duty tonight but the lure of the bed is far greater.

However of course, since I have the night free, how can I waste it by sleeping? Life's full of dilemma and contradiction, isn't it? Hahaha ........ Ken is going to be so peeved to know that I am blogging instead of sleeping as I said I would.

Talking about Ken and blogging, it suddenly dawned upon me that I had not updated his blog in ages. A quick check revealed that my last entry was on 31 July 2007. OMG ............ coming 4 months! Little wonder he says that I had been neglecting him. MENTAL NOTE TO SELF: Update Ken's blog ASAP!

And you know the other thing about contradiction? My new phone. I chosed it because it was so darn slim but now each time I need the phone, I have to pour the entire contents from my bag before I could hunt it down! Why can't life be a little bit simpler? :p

Just before I end, I want to wish Sam all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for all the help and advice he had given me. He has definitely made a difference in my working life and I am going to really miss having him around.

P.S. Also hi to Dave *waves*, who's stumbled his way to my blog.

New toys

Yipee ............. 2 new toys!!! It is not very often that I get gadgets for myself and now within the span of 1 month, I have got 2! However not by choice of course .......... If you remember, I lost my phone, so that means replacing it. And my camera decided to conk out on me at the same time. Murphy's law or what!

Anyway tadaaaaa ......... proudly presenting my new Canon Digital Ixus 75! We borrowed Chermaine's Canon for the trip and it was love at first sight. Now I have my own :DDD You know what I truly love about it? The ultra wide angle 3 inch LCD screen. Who cares if it uses up battery faster? :p

And here's my next toy, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic. I decided not to get anything impractical that will cost me an arm and a leg. Afterall, I had gotten a new slim camera that will take me everywhere so there's no need for me to get a phone with that many megapixels. Likewise I fell in love with the look of Nokia 5310. Those who have seen it, will know how slim it is. It's such a far cry from my bulky N80. To me, it's all about looks. Hiak ...... I am such a poser :p

Anyway, the buying stops here!
