I am okay now :)

Thanks to all for your consolation. I am extremely touched by many of you (friends and readers) whom have written or sms me after reading my post. I am one lucky person to have the kind support of so many.

I am doing alright now, both mental and healthwise . Recovery and grieving processes speeds up with so many loved ones surrounding me.

After so long a break (about a month), I am finally back to work this week. Arghhh ...... I was sooo out of touch! :p I can hardly catch my breath with so much work piled up and furthermore, Uniz's family are here, so we try as best as we can to spend as much time together before they leave for Oxford again. Sorry guys, you'll have to be a little more patient with my holiday pics because time is so not on my side.

I had done lots of stuffs over the week. Check them out!

Went with some FJC guys to the sports club
Brought Uniz & Leto too
Meg was absolutely thrilled to have Leto there
And Leto was absolutely thrilled to play with the water. Her expressions were just way cute!
Meg guiding Leto down the slide
Leto takes swimming lessons in England & is even better than Meg when it comes to holding breath in the water!
Leto was totally unafraid to be submerged underwater. Instead I was the one who was scared half to death seeing her slide down the water slide :p
Meg with her DaDa & Eric, Weihao, Keegan in the background
We 3 sisters wanted some bonding time & decided on bar hopping in Clarke Quay
Our 1st stop was Lunar
It's a perk to have a sis work in Ministry Of Sound (MOS) - we were allowed in all the joints & happily went all over to take photos
It was quite a sight cos we looked like tourists taking pictures at all corners of the club
We even had our very own photographer - this waitress was holding on to our camera & pointing out which are the interesting areas to take pictures. She was more 'on' than us!
Ewwwww..... (Haha ....... my sisters do not believe in posing normally for a photo :p)
This man walked by & offered to take a pic for us. Uniz & I were too shy to pose but Erycka went ahead anyway. Hee~
Who else but me as the obvious choice for queen!
Now you see our pecking order ;)
Next stop - Kandi Bar
The background is full of stuffed alligators & we were supposed to act scared but I looked like I was falling off instead! My sisters were laughing their heads off!
Yummy!
Kissey kissey!
Posing behind the DJ console
A pretty cool chill-out joint - I like it :))
Camera whores!
Our 3rd stop was Fashion Bar but it was really bland & hence we didn't have any photos to show for it. These few pics below was taken in The Forbidden City - Bar Cocoon (IndoChine). I honestly wouldn't recommend this place either.
After everything, we decided to head back to Kandi Bar. Erycka said Champagne Taittinger was new so we tried & liked it.
Uniz never fails to be amused by us taking self pics. Haha .......
I like this photo ;)
But I still like Lunar best cos the music is so similar to Devil's! I am so definitely going to gather the Devil's bunch there. Although it's not Uniz & Erycka's kind of music but they didn't mind going back there cos the ambience is terrific. Another plus - great service.
Our 2nd bottle of Taittinger - we're hooked on this stuff!
Erycka's colleagues came to join us right at the end of the night & we had yet another bottle Taittinger :p I am gald I didn't have to crawl home :p The 3 of us had so much fun that night! I look forward to sisters' night out whenever Uniz is here.
Melanie & Dan were back from Belgium for a holiday & we met for coffee in Arab Street
Finally busy business woman Nelly is willing to part with her phone
We had an early birthday dinner/ celebration for Kelly as she's busy with the travel fair on her birthday
I love you darling. Remember that no matter what happens, even if the sky falls, you've got us here for you always!
2 sweeties
I love you too! (of course Ju as well)
Went for a dressed-up Halloween with the FJC peeps in Powerhouse
Dressed up as Goth - costume courtesy of Stella
My darlings - Juliana is not dressed up. Marilyn is a rape victim??!! Wahaha........
Denise went all the way out & dressed as that murderer in 'Scream'. Aiyah ....... the tube of fake blood can be seen.
There's Denise dancing on the platform with her mask on. She was a hot item except to the wrong gender. The babes thought that she was a guy & were drooling over 'him'. They even asked for 'his' phone number! We have reached a conclusion - if you want to score, wear that mask & you'll have countless girls flocking to you. So now you know what you are going dressed as next Halloween, right? :p
Scary .........
Sweetheart was a convict - albeit a pretty dressed up one
These guys are sooo sporting!
Celebrated Chang's & Raymond's birthday
FJC bros
Haha ..... love this pic too!
Meg says that I look scary ........
Denise & her brother (sorry forgotten his name :p)
Ju caught acting cute in all the pics
She power lah!

There was this group dancing next to us & their costumes were real scary as well. So we simply grabbed 1 of them for a photo.
Chang was totally gone - chopping straw!!! Lolx......
So you guys envy me?
These 2 can be best partners - act cute then act scary :p
Ken also not to be missed out
At the carpark already & still acting
Poor Marvin ......
Went for Dim Sum in 'Red Star' with the family on Sunday morning
Ken was driven nuts with my non-stop posing :p I love my new pink Ray-Ban aviators!!!
I love my family :)
Ken is de-kitting the car. He loves this JS racing concept but I kept having accidents to his front lip that he had no choice but to convert to Spoon look.
He wants to show how low the car is

Sorry honey that you had to convert :p *sheepish*

In loving memory of my grandma

It's been said that misfortune never comes singly and how right it is. Right after I was discharged, my beloved grandma passed away. She left us on 14/10/07 Sunday morning at the age of 94. She died peacefully of old age and I think it's a great consolation to her having managed to see Uniz and Leto just before she died. In fact, she probably held on to see the both of them because she turned bad the day after they came back to Singapore.

I did not manage to get a last glimpse of my grandma because I was still sleeping. I was way too complacent. I had thought that when I came home on Saturday night, it was too late in the night to go see her. I told myself, I would do so the first thing I wake up in the morning. But ...........

I had taken a lot of things in life for granted, including my grandma. During her last few years in life, she became wheelchair bound and her hearing deteriorated. With the difficulty in hearing, she also spoke less and made less demands. Gradually she was not as lucid as she used to be. And gradually too, we forgot that she was there, sitting quietly in her wheelchair at the far end of the house.

Many a times, I wanted to go hold her hands and ask how was she feeling but something would distract me and I would forget all about it. Everything else in my life was given a priority except her. I even put off seeing her, thinking that it can wait. I had never been more wrong. And all I can do is sit and weep. No way to turn back the clock now. I can only live with the regret.

As I sat mourning her, I recollected all that she had done for me. Mum works long hours when I was young and grandma was the one who looked after my sis and I. She cooked, cleaned the house and fetch us to/fro school. Something that's deeply etched in my memory was how she would plait my hair with the strings from the plastic bags of 'Tau Hua Jui' every morning prior to school. That was how thrifty she was. Grandma forms a huge part of my life, she's one of my pillars. And now she's no more. How I miss her and grieve for her.

The one thing we did right was that we kept her at home when we knew time was near for her. She had Leto affectionately kissing her just before she passed away. Uniz called me when she thinks something was amissed and I rushed down immediately to confirm that she's breathed her last. I held her when she was still warm and Megan also got to kiss her. Then I wiped, cleaned and changed her for the last time. I thank God for giving me one last chance to do something for her.

I think you really get to know who your real friends are in times of difficulties and needs. From the time I was hospitalised and now the funeral, I got to see for myself who are true friends and who are the ones that were only paying lip service. There were really wonderful friends and relatives who came down every night of the funeral or some who sent their regards even when they are abroad. Then again there are some that whom I thought were good friends but didn't do nothing at all.

Other than getting to see the true colours of some friends, I also got to see how ugly some of my family members were. Sad to say, the funeral is the last I will see of them, for they cease to be family from henceforth. I am glad to say that my own family actually came out stronger and closer after the funeral. The 3 of us sisters were so united and I am so proud of them. We had made a pact right there at my grandma's funeral to always work in hand and never to drift apart.

I miss you Ah Ma ............ Although I never told you that I love you, you know that I do very very much.

We took pictures of the funeral for remembrance & to send to relatives living overseas. I know it's kinda morbid to post it but it's afterall my online diary & I want to document it.Wreath from my company
Fruit hamper wrapped by the 3 of us sisters to be offered to grandmaMeg was really cute. She was unafraid & even lined up all her toys to sleep next to the coffin.Megan was a great consolation to me. She was extremely sweet throughout the entire funeral & was helping in whatever way she could. Everytime she sees me cry, she would come & hug me & kiss me. During these 5 days, it's as if our roles were reversed & she took care of me instead.
In spite of what everyone says about blogging, I am glad I started & persisted. If not, I wouldn't be taking so many photos nor documenting bits of my life that didn't seem important then. Because of blogging, I was able to go into the archive & retrieve some photos of my grandma. This pic was taken during her birthday in 2005.

Whew ........

I can finally breathe a sigh of relief because I was discharged today and the doctors didn't find anything major that contributed to the legs swelling.

I am sorry that I have worried everyone. Thank you to my dear friends and family for their concern. And also my dear darlings Marilyn and Kelly for dropping by to see me. I love you gals! And of course not forgetting my sweetheart Ken for enduring the uncomfortable chair/ bed each time I get warded :p

Now that I know my kidneys are probably more prone to problems than the norm, I would have to watch what I eat closely. Go easy on the salt and drink loads of water. It's a real toughie for me because I love salty food and I never drink plain water. Besides I don't drink enough water anyway. It's a job hazard as I try to restrict water intake during the day since I am out all the time and I hated going to dirty public loos. That all will have to change though as much as I don't like it.

No choice but gotta PERSERVE!!!

Not again ..........

This is totally unbelievable ......... I am hospitalised again :( This is turning out to be an annual thing. I think it was about this time last year when I was admitted for kidney infection. This is turning out to be really sad.

I got home from work today and felt that the skin around my legs feels really tight. I had thought it was just extreme dry skin and started slathering on moisturising lotion. The shock I had when I started on my feet. Both were extremely swollen! My first reaction was 'OMG! How could I have put on so much weight!'. But after the initial shock sets in, sanity regains and I realised that it was water retention. I had never had water retention this bad even when I was in my last month of pregnancy. It looks totally hideous!

Ken brought me to the doctor immediately. They had intially suspected Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) due to my recent long haul flight but after some tests, deduced that it's most likely related to my kidneys.

And so here I am lying in the hospital bed now praying for my fate. I really hope it's nothing serious. Please pray for me and hope that my test results will turn out fine. I am truly worried now.

But if I want to look at my glass half full, then I should be happy that I might not have put on weight and all that roundness on my face was just water retention! Haha :p (Honestly if you take a close look at my pics taken in Dragonfly, you'll realise that I didn't have eyebags in those pics because my eyes were so puffed up.)

Arghhhh ...... I wish that butterfly feeling in my stomach will go away. I hate this feeling! Anyway I should try get some sleep now, got more blood tests early in the morning.

*Prays*

Meg's 6th birthday

Meg's 6th birthday
My precious princess has turned 6 today! :DDD

Meg was so excited about her birthday that she need not have us wake her but woke up on her own in the wee hours of the morning to go to school. It was so endearing watching her eagerly getting ready for school. (It's her first day in school by the way, after her long absence in Europe.)

Meg sweetie - Mummy and Dada are bursting with so much pride as we watch you grow every single day. You are a great kid and we are extremely proud of you. All I wish for you, my dear daughter, is for you to grow up healthy with a beautiful heart. Happy birthday sweetheart!

We went to Build-A-Bear Workshop located in Suntec to select her birthday pressie. She had been pining for it for a while now. It's a really interesting concept of building up your own bear from scratch & it teaches the kid to treat their stuff animals like a real live animal. Meg is totally in love with her toy & brings it wherever she goes cos she feels the ownership for it. We meant to get it as her birthday pressie but my Godma insists on buying it for her instead. So now we promised to bring her to Hong Kong Disneyland in December as a birthday pressie. (*crosses fingers* hope my leave gets approved)
Step 1 : Select your toy
Step 2: Put the stuffings into the bear. The shop assistant will have the kid go through a ritual of blessing a small cloth heart then placed it inside the toy so that now the toy has a real heart. Other than a heart, they also put a tag with code inside. This is so that if you lose your bear & someone returned it to the Workshop, they will call us to come collect it. The bear's registered :)
Meg steps on the pedal to churn out the stuffings
Step 3: Step on the pedal & it generates air. You're suppose to bathe & brush the toy.
Step 4: Go to the PC & type in all the particulars to register & generate a birth certificate for the toy. Meg picked a pink cat & she named her 'Princess Meow Moew'.
Step 5: Select clothes/ costumes/ accessories then try it out in the dressing room. Meg opted to dress her Princess Meow Meow in a white gown & as extras bought her a pair of angel wings & a pair of white silk panties. And just before we left the shop, all the staffs broke into this cute birthday song & almost startled Meg!
Brought the birthday cake with the goodie bags to her school this morning. She loooves her 3D Ariel cake. Knowing that we won't be in time to order a cake due to our trip, we pre-ordered this almost 1 month before.
Her classmates were just as excited as her
We love you our princess!
Humility class with form teacher Mrs Gan
Then we had another small celebration for her at home. It was combined with Imah as it was her birthday 2 days ago. Imah loved the gold necklace we got her.
Meg's our family's gem
Both are really thrilled

Back in Singapore

I'M BACK!!! I have came back looking very rotund (from all the food and beer) and extremely flaky (from the dry weather and not slathering enough body lotion) :p

So did you all miss me? Not even a teensy weensy bit? But of course you guys miss me, I mean how can you not, right? Haha ......... being away from all of you for so long makes me go a little nutty and I think the jet lag is not helping either :p

I miss Singapore and I miss blogging soooo much! It's pure nightmare not to have internet access whenever you want it. But now that I am back, I find that all I want to do is sleep whenever I am in front of the computer. The trip was terribly exhausting and now I find myself dozing off at all possible times.

We have taken tons and tons of photos - close to 2000 pics! I have just managed to upload them but please do give me some time to sort them out before I can post it. Arghhh ....... so much to do and so little time!

My godma and her friends from Hong Kong went along with us to England and Czech as well. After that, they stopped over in Singapore before flying back to Hong Kong. I had sorted these pics out already so I'll first show you these pics taken in Singapore.

P.S. Please click the link on your left and support my sponsor from Nike! :DDD

At the Merlion Park Meg with my Godma, Sandy and her boyfriend
There's me with my wind-blown hair and the other lady is aunty Ling
I had forgotten that Singapore can look that beautiful
Hee ...... bought that top in England for only 1.5 pound
My lovely family
Brought them to Lau Pa Sat - my fav eating haunt
Her boyfriend especially flew over to Singapore to celebrate his birthday with her
Brought them to yet another fav haunt - Dragonfly! Hahaha ........
I haven't seen her in a couple of years and I missed her very much indeed!
Aunty Ling is a hoot! She can dance hours on her own - without the need for alcohol intoxication. Haha........ unlike me, no drinks, no dance :p
Precious darlings Marilyn and Kelly but Juliana couldn't make it.
Mar's super duper fun colleagues, Ben, Wendy & Jason, were also there. A big thank you for all your help in entertaining my Godma!
My Hong Kong guests had a great time!
Gulp, Ken & Eric arrived later
I wanted to take a pic with Ken but as usual, they all rush in - Kelly got cropped off & I don't know who's that guy behind. He's got the nerve to ask me if he's nice-looking & wants to take photo with me! I sent him to be dealt with by Ken :p Hahaha......
FJC bro, Eric
Trying to set him up with a very nice colleague of Mar. Erm ....... so Eric, what's her name huh?
Aiyoh Ben kena caught!
Finally peace to take pics on our own
Ken's buddies & sister
Gulp never lets me off & always insists that I take stout - he calls me queen of stout, which I told him I'm no more :p (As proven by that bewildered look on my face!)
Barely recovered from the jet lag & still had to party non-stop. Friday Dragonfly & Saturday Plush. Bought that cap in Czech btw :D
Celebrated Denise aka Wapiang aka 50DD's birthday
With all the OCs from FJC - Cheryl, Celine, Peishan & Juliana
Beats me why Raymond is holding tightly to the LV bag?
All the buayahs going after her 50DD!
The couples
On the dance platform - a cage concept. As much as I miss bar-top/ platform dancing, that would be my 1st & last time to Plush. It's got a super boring crowd & it's no wonder cos the DJs suck big time! Hardcore R&B stuff throughout. I mean I like R&B but sometimes too much is just too much. They totally can't read the crowd! Even after I have requested a change of repertoire, they continued as they like. No even 1 song catered to us. Well carry-on & the truth is not many hardcore R&B customers can spend enough to sustain your business. No loss for me.
Poor Ken didn't get to drink when we were in Europe, so he vowed to get drunk that night. But even he had to admit that the place was too boring to get drunk.
Super chio Denise
Haha ..... K.O.
